Thank You to The Grey Muzzle Organization for Helping Senior Dogs Get the Care They Deserve

Senior dogs are often the most vulnerable, especially when their families are experiencing homelessness. But thanks to a generous grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization, more senior pups supported by Project Street Vet are getting the medical care they deserve in their golden years.

We’re honored to be one of just 119 animal welfare organizations nationwide selected to receive a 2025 Grey Muzzle Grant, which awarded more than $1.57 million to help senior dogs thrive.

This funding helps Project Street Vet go beyond what’s possible during street outreach. Through our Veterinary Case Management financial assistance program, we can provide critical from needed diagnostics to emergency surgeries.

Dogs like George remind us why this work matters. When his mom, Jennifer, noticed something was wrong with his ears, she reached out for help. After examination, it was discovered that both of George’s eardrums had ruptured. George was immediately given medication and antibiotics to help his ears recover and ease the pain. George received the care he needed through our Veterinary Case Management financial assistance program. Today, he is healthy and feeling better! 

Thanks to Grey Muzzle, more senior dogs and the people who love them will get the care and the comfort they’ve earned after a lifetime of loyalty.
