Dr. Randy Wuensche is the Lead Veterinarian for Project Street Vet Dallas–Fort Worth. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science (1984), Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Science (1987), and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (1989) from Texas A&M University. Although he considered both human and veterinary medicine growing up, he knew during his sophomore year of college that becoming a veterinarian was his true calling.

Inspired by his wife, Terrie, and her work in dog rescue, Dr. Randy discovered Project Street Vet through Dr. Kwane Stewart's book and has been helping bring veterinary care to pet families experiencing homelessness across the Dallas–Fort Worth area ever since. He is passionate about meeting people where they are and ensuring that financial barriers never stand in the way of compassionate care.

For Dr. Randy, the most rewarding part of volunteering is seeing the relief and joy on a pet parent's face when they realize their beloved companion will receive care at no cost. One of his favorite memories is helping a man care for what he affectionately called "his wife's cat," witnessing firsthand the deep bond they shared. Experiences like these continue to reinforce his belief that, when communities come together, they can make a meaningful difference for both pets and the people who love them.
