Darlene and Tyr

Tyr, an eleven-year-old Pitbull, is the beloved companion of his mom, Darlene. Darlene reached out to Project Street Vet seeking financial assistance after she noticed that his ear flap was swollen. Already facing hardship with living in her vehicle, Darlene was in a difficult position. When the team at Project Street Vet learned how concerned she was about getting Tyr the care he needed, they stepped in through the organization’s financial assistance program, which covers the cost of veterinary care for qualified cases.

Darlene and Tyr were referred to Green Dog & Cat Hospital, a trusted partner of Project Street Vet. After examining Tyr and performing an ear cleaning/cytology, the veterinarian determined that he needed an ear hematoma surgery. Thanks to the generous donors who support Project Street Vet, we were able to sponsor his surgery and give him the chance to live his healthiest life.

Following Tyr’s procedure, Darlene shared her gratitude:

“I’m so thankful for the Street Vets program. With their assistance, I was able to get my dog into a vet clinic where he was evaluated and found out his problems were even more extensive than I realized. He received the care that was needed and my best friend is healthy and safe now. It means the world to me.”
